Since white iPhone 4s are no where to be found, Engadget undertook a DIY project to create their own.
With the help of iFixit's teardown guide, we decided to take the plunge with our steaming hot Chinese delivery -- a white front cover (with a shiny proximity sensor area above the earpiece), a white back cover (with "XXXXX" marked as the model number, ergo a prototype), and a Retina Display unit. Steve Jobs has responded to a customers email asking why the iPhone 3G didn't get wallpaper backgrounds on the home screen.

Hey guys...we just received a tip that Apple may in fact be selling limited quantities of the white iPhone 4 at all the locations selling them on the 24th. Of course this is just a rumor, but I think it is quite possible that the early adopters get rewarded with a "limited addition" iPhone 4.

Looks like this mess of the iPhone 4 continues to get worse by the minute.
People that order an iPhone 4 yesterday, have started to get emails from att saying that your order has been cancelled!
